how much performance would u lose if ur pushing 1700watts and under the hood u had an 80amp fuse, alot? what size fuse u guys recommend for that much power 300amps?

i used to have an 80 amp fuse with my hifonics and it never blew. then again the amp prolly didnt put out 1500 watts like it claimed. for 1700 watts i would go like 120 i THINK. right now im running 2500+ watts with a 150 amp fuse. its better to get a smaller fuse than a bigger one. 300 amp fuse is WAYYY to much

Yeah or about 220. It also depends on the wire. For 220 your not supposed to use anything less than 2ga. If you run 1/0 i think the limit is supposed to be like 350. But I'm sure that is all conservitively rated. Meaning it can handle more.

Try one of these, little pricey, but very nice. Instead of blowing the fuse, it just throws the breaker, get out, pop the hood, and push it back in.

okay, lets say i run a 300amp fuse instead of a 250amp fuse..what can happen?

i would jsut get a 200 or 220 worse that would happen is it would blow, then go bigger
