I would love to see a Warden in the 15" Challenge, hopefully would really set sum precedents and prove what 5+ years of R&D will result in.

 

Honestly i see the concern that IA might have with sending a woofer(s) to the challenge. But realistically they will be getting them back and any woofer that breaks down through the testing could be reconed in house and resold by IA at a small discounted price.

 

If they are confident in their products and think they'll hold up to the compeition their isn't any risk. All i see is reward from many of the ppl who see this testing and look at it when they are making their future purchases. Maybe not the Warden but the other subs i could see.

Just to set things straight, but im not trying to argue with you.
1. All products are being shipped back to the companies. And I mean ALL.

2. I know you do R&D but this gives you exact side by side testing to the competition. Kinda helps back up the whole, talk is cheap thing. Also I have as controlled of an environment as possible to make the tests as accurate as possible.

3. I have a world finals judge and several members on hand to verify the tests.

4. It consists of 10 minutes of printing a shipping label and sticking it on the sub box.

Not trying to argue with ya at all Nick, its just that Sundown, RD, T3, Ultra and Evo had no issues with it, and I can promise you this will be a one time thing on my part. As I have all ready about 50 hours into this project with several thousands of dollars in equipment and I assure you I wont see a thing for it cept maybe a few thank yous.

1. I was under the impression the products would be keep - but not a big deal 2,3 and 4 are my main concerns.

2. I'm sure you have a good test environment with a test this big as its a huge undertaking. But like I said we already have those results as we've done those same test here at our place in our test boxes as we have an extreme car here at the shop. Any woofers you drop in that bandpass setup and match power and you have a reference across the board on anything and we do for the last 4 years. As far as talk as cheap - it maybe is but it's not coming from me and I'm going to stick to my guns on this - if 7 years in business and being the first net based company to do alot of thing in terms of development don't speak for the cheap talk nor do Scottie Johnson, Tommy Mckinnie, and the rest of my main stay SPL guys then no test results you have will either.

3. Like I said I can't be there to see the results, so I had rather not be involved. Not saying you'd do something wrong or try to make my product look bad, but me sending a few drivers blindly to someone I've never meet or know - just doesn't seem practical considering I'm going to get results that I already have for the most part. Also, I'm alittle weathered from the past as well as this isn't the first time I've been asked to give samples for testing. After my last few problems I said never again - because the results did change when I was there for the product to be tested again and this was from a well known company.

4. We build custom drivers and drivers to order - I can't just print a UPS label and send them to you. We have to build them all. Then we get into all kinds of variables of spider packs and coil options. If I did send you a DP per say and another X driver had a different coil and had a lower impedence and therefore was louder on more power - I had to spend the next few months trying to prove my point that it was from power not the X driver was better. Because at the end of the day customers only see X brand vs Y brand and not all the numbers in the middle.

So once again thanks, but no thanks!

Man i dont see the problem here, just let the guys that already invested in these subs give the reviews. Most of them know what they are doing, and have the power to push them. Just putting in my 2 cents.

Hello people.....

Many of you do not know me..........so many of you won't care what I say....

But those who forget history are doomed to repeat it....

So....that being said....after the 12 challenge and many woofers coming up missing for months and not being returned and the organizer of challenge running off into trainspotting.com i say......................

A manufacturer would be a fool to send any sub to a challenge ever again.

So, I side with business reason....a financial risk.....that is enough reason not to do it from a business standpoint.

As far as companies proving themselves........

I think I've seen enough windshields give away to know that some companies have NOTHING to prove...I've also seen cheaply made woofers not worth crap as far as poor appearance and sub-par parts with just plain black dust caps and a floppy fs and low power handling with 16mm xmax take world titles and break world records...........so I dare say....that many companies products have nothing to prove and many installers have EVERYTHING to prove....

And i did a direct swap out from DPs to a different sub and I gained... so dont tell me there isnt a better sub in the power range.

And im not gonna say what sub, cause thats not why im here.

I just hope that a sub that has all of nicks time and pride in it does well. I think its cool another neo sub has come out!!!

What sub did you swap too? You brought it up so tell me. So you tested the twin Nightshade, huh? How about the twin BTL, L4XL, HDC and all other 220mm magnet motors?

Why is there doubt in my word? I'm not out there bragging about any of my stuff - but I sure as hell will defend it.

You said you took out a DP and replaced it with another sub, you just cant leave it as that and not say what sub. If you choose to say, then your just full of sh1t. But you are really confident so just say the name.

Also keep in mind if you did a direct swap, did you build a new box for it? Because each sub performs different in specific enclosures, so just curious as well.
