in-line voltage meter

I cant seem to get this voltage read-out to work. Any suggestions

I bought the 2ga one a while ago. and I want to make sure the voltage drop is not horible.

There is only one wire to hook up and the other it the power. Is it suppossed to be hooked up to ground?
