Oh now you want me to flame you? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gifKeep tryin'.
I can't believe how badly I'm getting porked up the anus by this True Value Electronics place. The replacement 9887 showed up Thursday and I thought it was a new one because it had a different serial number than the first one they sent me. So I plug it into the wiring harness in the dash and when I turn the ignition to ACC the HU turned on, which I thought was strange. Usually you have to turn on a new unit using the power switch on the HU. Then I turned the volume control knob and it doesn't work at all. It won't change the volume, and it won't do any of its other functions either. As it turns out, instead of sending me a new HU, they apparently just threw a different one in the box and sent it to me, all this after they made wait two weeks while they SUPPOSEDLY got more new ones in.
I sent them a very nasty email this morning saying I've had enough of their jacking me around and that I want a full refund, but here's the thing. I told them I wasn't going to send this unit back to them until I receive my full refund because I think if I send them this unit back first, I'll never see my money again. I believe they're actually crooked enough to do that. If they won't do this my way, what legal recourse can I take against them? I know I can report them to the BBB (which I'm going to do anyway), but is there any legal means I can use to send this thing back that would give me some leverage on them to give me my refund? Would I be better off just keeping the unit and sending it in to an Alpine repair center to have it repaired?
Somehow I don't think anyone's experience with ED could possibly be any worse than what I'm going through.Grampi, just be happy it wasn't Elemental Designs you had an issue with... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/escape.gif.52b661afb17bde1db0e0c7da97e75b38.gif
At this point, I really don't expect any type of resolution from this place. They can't seem to do anything right. That's why I just sent the unit to a REPUTABLE place for repairs and I'll just send the seller a copy of the repair receipt and they can refund me that amount. They probably won't do that either, but I've got to try something. What I've been doing isn't working and at some point, I'd like to have a working HU installed in my vehicle. I think that was my original plan when this whole fiaso began......I can't remember. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gifim not a store, but i wouldnt give you shit without my unit back.
what is their refund policy?
While that may be true, at some point I need to start working towards getting a working HU I can install in my car. Considering all that's happened to this point, I have so little faith in this place I certainly won't run the risk of letting them completely have the upper hand by sending them back this HU while they still have my money. I don't trust them at all. I will be seeking legal assitance (if needed) from my local Air Force base law offices. I can do so at no charge because I am retired military. You cannot decide to repair the unit on your own, and send them the bill. If they refuse to pay for the repair you're probably screwed. For all they know, you dropped the unit removing it from the box.
That will most likely be necessary. I understand your desire to get it going now, but likely the distributor will refuse to pay for a third party repair they did not approve ahead of time. While that may be true, at some point I need to start working towards getting a working HU I can install in my car. I've never had any luck dealing with those people in the past with similar issues. They just don't give a crap about customer service.
That's exactly what I want. I've come to realize I'm probably just gonna have to take it up the poop chute on this whole deal and chalk one up to learning the lesson that buying from the cheapest place isn't necessarily a good idea. If I can get some kind of reimbursement from the seller, great. If not, we live and learn and press on.Yah, I think he's just wanting a working head unit.
