I'm putting together a complete system.

I hooked up my brothers amp, who bought the same jbl as me, and it works, but now heres the weird thing. It doesnt hit nearly as hard as the other amp. Same identical set up, even with the gain @100% (dont worry i turned it back down). No idea what gives with that.

check to see if your subs arent blown.

Yeah, sub goes first, then takes out the amp.

If you didn't set the amp up it could have easily smoked the subs. Then like said, amp went. It probably didn't go at first.

Did the subs stink?

Are you trying his amp in your car?

Ok, same thing with the hd212 sub. Subs barely moving.

Check for any burnt speaker or power/ground wires. No it wont be black, it will be discolored looking compared to copper.

No subs dont stink and i dont think its blown. Also this input disc doesnt work, all it does is play an obnoxious test tone.

Yea, just burned myself a copy of test tones to set my gains tonight

I know thats what its supposed to do, but the amp doesnt respond to it.

Ok, so i dont know what i did, but the sub is now hitting hard. Played a song and in the middle the sub cut out. Amp is luke warm. Gain was at 70, input level was at like 75% but I had loudness set to medium. Sub came back on and i turned loudness off.
