OP
You didn't turn the gain all the way up did you?I disconnected and then reconnected everything, checked fuses, connections, everything. Since the amp reset, all of the settings are now default. 25hz/200hz 40db I'll take some pics tomorrow. Amp is also mounted onto the vehicle so it's not like it's loose and banging around in the trunk.
Also, what does clipping it to death mean?
No bass boost. I left it at default mainly because I had to rush to work. I could not have been pushing that amp too hard. How did you set it? No bass boost?
Is that 40 number you posted the gain position? That would be half. Where is the Hi2 switch? Is the sub wired under 1ohmNo bass boost. I left it at default mainly because I had to rush to work. I could not have been pushing that amp too hard.I'm not car audio savvy, but I do have a slight idea about not pushing something to its limits.
Sub is wired @ 4ohms. Yes gain is the 40 number and is what it comes default which is half. Hi2 switch is at the top, but the amp was not set to hi2.Is that 40 number you posted the gain position? That would be half. Where is the Hi2 switch? Is the sub wired under 1ohm
Did it work when you installed it? Where is it getting the RCA signal from?Sub is wired @ 4ohms. Yes gain is the 40 number and is what it comes default which is half. Hi2 switch is at the top, but the amp was not set to hi2.
If you got it from sonic call them. Sounds like you didn't even try to set it up and you fried it. Sonic is pretty good about returning stuff even if it's the users error. It worked for about an hour. Even when not connected to the sub it does the same thing. Just constantly resets with that protect mode symbol. There's nothing in the manual about the code.
After reading a few pages back wiring a newer sub in,,sounds like the amp is the issue to me alsoIf you got it from sonic call them. Sounds like you didn't even try to set it up and you fried it. Sonic is pretty good about returning stuff even if it's the users error.
I just noticed this. Explain this to me. So I connect speaker wire from the power and ground terminals, then reconnect the power and ground?Reset the amp, take off power and ground connections of the amp, then take a speaker wire and jump the power and ground terminals of the amp.
