I bought a kicker sub. JBL amp is in my car, luke warm to the touch. I have 4awg wire going to the amp. Wiring is all legit, no loose connections. Amp comes on, then shuts off with an exclamation warning sign with 01 next to it. Turns back on and repeats.

Try disconnecting everything and reconnecting. Any way to tell your voltage? Wonder if this thing is overly sensitive to all kinds of stuff.

Works with head-units, because it resets the memory.

Depends on what amp. May reset the protection circuitry, may not

Reset the amp, take off power and ground connections of the amp, then take a speaker wire and jump the power and ground terminals of the amp.

Pictures of your setup and your amp settings would help too man. You might have clipped it to death without knowing. Many things can cause clipping

I disconnected and then reconnected everything, checked fuses, connections, everything. Since the amp reset, all of the settings are now default. 25hz/200hz 40db

I'll take some pics tomorrow. Amp is also mounted onto the vehicle so it's not like it's loose and banging around in the trunk.
