..................im talking about the 12. i accidentally used the 15" rms figure.
edit: amp was a PA A3000db. "rated" at 2300@ 1 ohm. wouldnt be surprised if it did somewhere along the lines of 1500, which is why i always say we ran a 2300w rated amp. whatever power figures you find online for this test that are honest, is how much power we were sending to the sub.

HAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..................
OMG not you! I guess im a noob thenYour a noob then, clearly didnt have a proper box. I ran 3kw real power to 2 12" Type R's DAILY. And I blasted that shit, at first there was some smell of glue other than that never smelled anything. I also had an ideal enclosure for them. Get educated.
All day sweetheart //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gifJust keep on showing ignorance dont you.
i have always and will always say we ran a 2300wrms RATED amp to an 05 12" type r. im sorry you cant read or understand what im trying to say.You honestly just wasted my time to argue with me that you ran "2300wrms" to a type R, when it may never have even seen close to that
Im guessing that was aimed at me? I would love to see a type-r with more than 1000wrms. Ive hooked up severalllllllllllll in the past. I ran one off a bx1606d, in 2.5cube @ 34hz, after testing with it I found that 1000wrms was the most you could safely throw at it "daily"
Also, two weeks ago I hooked up a new amplifier for a buddy of mine to power his 12" Type-R, he was previously running 500wrms to it, he upgraded his amplifier to a newer model alpine (cant remember the model number) 1000wrms mono-block. It was in a pre-fab, enclosure was too small, and even in that setup it was getting pushed to the point that the coil would start to smell at times.
All gains set as accurately as you can get with a DMM, and I have seen several instances online where people have thrown 1000wmrs to one, never more than that.
PLAIN AND SIMPLE IT WONT TAKE IT, if owned them in the past, and I have installed atleast 4 other setups with them taking 1000wrms a piece, they wont take more than that.

but but but, they'll burn up with even 1 watt more than 1000w to them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gifAnd now were talking about 3000wrms to a pair lawl
