see thats exactly me.. but some subs have a "tighter" sound than others...which is kinda what I was lookin for. AQ@2 ohms might not be enough power for the Q...maybe w/o the BP you COULD be ok if your electrical is solid.
LINGERFELT.. I would sure hope it beats out an L7 in pre-fab with only 750 on it... those things like 1500-2K

I have found a smaller box with a higher tuning will give the sub a "tighter sound"

7+ pages of it. Nothing we can tell you is going to persuade you one way or the other. Choose a sub and build a box, if you dont like it build another box. Test and tune , that is how most of us do it. And the ones that dont really dont give a shit how their system sounds they are more consumed with impressing their friends and buying what people think is cool.

If you want SQ, go with the Q in a sealed box.

If you want loud and SQ (no such thing as SQL) then get two RE XXX 18's.
