don't think I'd be trusting that thing then, or I'd at least be double checking with an o-scope. I could see some very high end HU's maybe being clean at 100%, but something like the Pio 600 I highly doubt.
Do you have access to an o-scope as it'd be interesting to see how the 2 compare...

I think the DD-1 is a great tool, and where I live there's no where near me with a O scope to compare.

Loud and clean to my ears at full volume but I normally keep it to around 58 out of 60 your deck doesn't have to be a high end one to not clip at full volume!most here would consider the cd7000 a better hu then the pioneer 600ub but the eclipse clipped at 75 out of 80 that doesn't make the pioneer better or have better sq it just means you can turn it all the way up every deck is different

Mine goes all the way up with no clipping
