If I buy a SMD DD1 Distortion Detector...

if your subs smell or get hot, turn the gain down....I don't need this tool to do it for me
its funny you never used the smd and yet you set your gains with smell lol?

just to school you the smd is to set gains to the max with out clipping, for example before i used the smd i only played my h.u. .75 of the way up because i did not know where clipping is now i can turn it up 99 percent with out clipping how the hell can you sniff that out?

also the smd does not claim to be better than the o-scope just different and imo faster. also a cheap o-scope is 90 shiopped and a decent one is 200 up to 600 for a fluke so for 160 you have a gtreat tool and resale is way higher than any used scope .

i have no problem with smd nor uits product im not a hugger i just weighed my options and made my choice .

people hate the smd because of the name well then dont buy it but dont come on sites crying about the product either op started this thraed for people interested in the product no haters to go on ranting.

fyi if you buy a smd you can use your nose the way god intended to check vaginal odor.

op i just bought my smd and love it 15.00 is too cheap peolpe will scartch it and the cd and then with shipping and p.p. fees its not worth the hassale at least 25 plus buyer pays shipping or just tune local for 30 bucks a pop

I was thinking about doing the renting as well and thought about that. I made a copy of the CD and use the copy and have the original tucked away. I stick with local tuning for $15 and $5 if friend or relative.

You're a moron...but, clearly you cant read a dmm or an oscope. Fail is Fail.
DMMs are not a good way to get optimal performance. A O-scope is a giant, expensive paper weight if you only need it for gain setting. If i was doing amp repair then it mat be useful. 99% dont need it. Its not even Meade's tool it Tony's. So stop hating everything you winny bitch

why is my name in this? i guess ill have to read LOL...

but those new handheald scopes are about the weight of half a cd. and thin as hell. for 70$ (40 less than meades IIRC) i would buy it. but meades does distortion also. which is not neccecerally clipping.

Ill probably buy one and rent it out. Would be really simple rules. Pics with name and date before every shipment, $150 deposit, you pay shipping both ways. Once its back to me in good order, deposit will be refunded minus $10 renting fee. $10 rent fee would be for week long periods (5 buisness days). Sound fair?
unless you have good feedback. then the 150 isnt needed. that would be more fair considering.

It also picks up interferance(noise). And Im pretty sure those hand helds are not that good. Not as good as a full size

no and they're harder to work. all in all. if i had the cash. i would get the smd DD-1. im sorry to say those handhelds are too complicated on the fly. SMD is just plug and play. only issue with the dd-1 for me is the fact i cant play CD's . so i would have to use my own track.

Just copy the disk

Just got my DD1 in today and I set my sub amp up with it........My gain was actually able to be turned up about 1/8 of a turn......So far I love this tool.....I could careless who has their name on it........I don't care if the KEEBLER ELVES made it!!!! It seems to work well............Thanks

Hating is one thing, viewing a product as stupid is another. Get it straight. I'm sorry you're not bright enough to understand that. But then again, your online name is DC...so nuthugging...and TC means a pos Sicon. No credibility here brah...go home.

would love to know what magical HU doesn't clip at 99% of volume?

I've tested 3 decks so for with the Smd and my alpine 117 and pioneer 600 ub no clipping at full volume my eclipse cd7000 went to 75 out of 80
don't think I'd be trusting that thing then, or I'd at least be double checking with an o-scope. I could see some very high end HU's maybe being clean at 100%, but something like the Pio 600 I highly doubt.

Do you have access to an o-scope as it'd be interesting to see how the 2 compare...
