IDW Install Pics

unlikely of ID to reccommend large enclosures.

These drivers are based off of prosound drivers. Pro sound drivers are high efficiency. IDWs are high efficiency subwoofers. High efficiency subwoofers can not be placed in small enclosures if you want any kind of low frequency extensions. These are large enclosure subwoofers, plain and simple. Take your ideology that everything ID has ever made has been a small enclosure subwoofer and toss it out the window. These do not fit that mold.

There is a reason ever single competitor who's ever used them as either used them 1) in an infinite baffle alignment (an infinitely large enclosure), or 2) in an enclosure in excess of 8cuft for the pair.

umm right.... not now... maybe someday... but I beleive squeak called dibs when I'm done with them.... I haven't even had a chance to tune the **** amp or get my comps installed right so I'm hardly ready to switch subs now before I even get to enjoy them...

If you don't want it stolen (and/or don't want that box to kill you in an accident), bolt it down. Really, I had a friend get into an accident with his old Escort hitting a tree. I made him a 1 cube box with a JL 10" woofer and it broke through the back seat and was on its way to squish his head against the windshield when the power wire on the amplifier that was bolted to the box intervened.

Your box probably weighs 8 times as much, so you want to bolt it down.

Do you know if ID made those in an 18"? I'm actually looking for an 18 to go in a 6ft^3 horn-loaded enclosure.
