IDW Install Pics

I don't need one of these
Ok well I got my IDW's installed. I don't have all the pics I thought I did but here are a few. The IDW's sound great but need tuning. Seeing how I live in an apartment complex I can't tune them without letting everyone know what I have and without complaints. I'll take it to some parking lot at the edge of town to get it all tuned but I haven't had time.. The door pods for the speakers were a disaster and will get re-done this weekend I hope...

Amp Cover, with relay controlled fans... they come on with the amps... the amps sit on 1/4 ply with all the power the wires entering the little cutout between the fans... this works well since I use my rig for hunting and I can remove the subs by unhooking the wire and removing the box, leaving the amps and wires in place, safely covered so some stupid dog or wet gear won't get to the amps... plus I get to keep the comp amp in place so I have something to listen to.

Oops.. it's was too big to fit in, I had to cut 2.5inches off each side. That was stupid but the fix worked and the ugly cuts where covered up with the carpet

Installed w/o Carpet

w/ Carpet, looks decent. I had planned to have the front and top seamless but I screwed up and the front and bottom are seamless... ohh well..

Hmm it blocks a little of my view... but who needs to see out the back??

with that huge box your worried about people knowing what you have?
yah... umm it's kind of hard to hide... on the plus side I know for a fact it's a two man job to get it out... I'm 6'2" 280lbs and I had to take the subs out to move it inside and carpet it... on the down side I'm sure a thief can find someone to help... in any case I was more worried about complainers... when I tried to tune it while installing it at my friends house some old woman from 2 blocks away walked over all angry looking and told us that we'd be deaf by 25.... little did she know I'm almost 25 already....

Best. subs. ever.

I had doubts about the guy who sold 'em to you, but I'm glad everything worked out great. Tint your windows a couple shades darker and you should deter a lot thiefs. Can't steal what you don't know is there, right?

not bad at all. I just dropped by ID's HQ today as a coincidence to drop of my IDmax 10" to get reconed.

anyhow, on the back of the box, between the headrests, is a perfect spot for a logo of some sort.

yah he came through but it took almost a month for him to ship them but he had loads of refs.... they are in absolutely perfect cosmetic condition... well until I got ahold of them... I made a couple small scratches.... doh!

that is a nifty idea.... we'll see though... I need to redo the frontstage mounts b/c they sound like ***...

WOW. 4 cubes each? do they really require that much? most ID's subs can fit into shoe boxes..
they are made for IB installs... between winISD and lots of recommedations I settle on 4 cubes each... ID recommended 1.5cubes each but that didn't look right at all in winISD...

hmmm... I just thought it sounded odd, 4 cubes for a sq driver.once you finish tuning, let us know how them babies sound.
they sounded nice on my first test run but I have alot of tweaking to do... and with my mids putting out 0 midbass all I can listen to is bass tracks and rap so it's hard to judge SQ.... I'll get'er done over the next couple weeks.
