IB setup

My main concern is I can only mount upto ONE 10" on the rear deck. Behind the seat, i can fit upto TWO 12'sm ONE 15, or ONE 18. I'm thinking of going sealed for now because nothing seems to work out. What do you guys recommend? I have a 15" PPI Piston and 2 10" Pistons at disposal right now. However, their specs don't seem to agree with IB setup requirements. Any suggestions?

i was never a fan of the flat piston subs they seemed to lack a personality too neutral. neutral sound for me should come from the mids and highs..... in al seriousness idq's are sweet ib

Hey Req nice setup. I wish I could take my seats out lol. But it seems like with seats up and the subs mounted on the hole behind the seats (the way you did except the seats up) lowers the output significantly. Sucks.

Would anyone know approx. how much od an decrease (in db) I would see if I have the seats folded up with an IB setup behind the seats?

Depends on how crazy you want to get //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

There are ways to do it that will result in virtually no loss in output. However, it would require modifying the vehicle.

You could do something similar to THIS, which would allow you to run an unlimited size sub while not losing any volume between seat up and seat down.

Lol. I need the car to look at stock as possible after everythign is said and done. I'm thinking of running 2 Pg RSD 12's which should put out some good amount of output. BTW, the car is a 02 Maxima so I don't know how sound much the seats **** up.

its all dependent on how you install it. it should be loud and get low but sound alot more realistic. snappier with more rumble but less punchiness. depending on what you do can make a huge difference 2-6 db i bet .

i just cut a hole in the rear deck and put the top of the baffle behind the hole. pop the rear deck carpet back on and thats all she wrote.

its hard to see in the pics tho.

did he ever finish the install?

Ideally you want a sub that has a QTS of .45 or higher. DLS makes a IB capable sub. The Fi Car Audio Q Series looks capable. I would just look around for other woofers that have those high QTS numbers.
They way I have mine, is that they (two twelves) are mounted to the hole directly behind the rear seats.
I wouldn't go higher than .45

System Q can always be raised, but **** near impossible to lower. After many physical attributes of a cars environment and the use of boost, your total system q will fall between .6-.7 using a woofer with .45 QTS.

yeah, .3-.4 with in IB with cabin gain and your good to go at .7
