IB setup. Vents?

cars aren't air tight. you are worrying about the wrong thing. my question is why are people running IB?
and 90% of my cars dont have trunk vents.
It can be a number of reasons: reduced footprint, higher efficiency, "cool factor," low-end extension, natural reproduction...the list goes on and on. There's a practical purpose, but I think the IB craze has come in part due to people just being curious as to what it's all about.

I'll show you natural reproduction //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I'M KIDDING. On a less gay (although I have no problem with anyone that may be gay) side note, I'd love to figure out how IB setups work. They're different, I think that's why they're so interesting to everyone.

When the sub is at low volume I can hear it sometimes. And I can hear it when I close the door, thats enough reason right there haha.

The vent only clips in, no screws or rivets. I tried to take it out, but it seems that I would have to remove the rear bumper. I can un clip it and wiggle it around a bit, theres no getting it back through the hole.

Rear bumper can't be that hard to pull off, the front bumper of my car was held on by 2 nuts and a couple plastic pop-off deals

in car audio i cant see it as being a curiosity at best.
Um... No. Why do all car manufacturers go with IB sub setups now stock in premium setups? Because they actually sound great and have decent bass reproduction from small drivers in IB setups on the rear decks... IB is great if a install calls for it.

most cars have the trunk vent to release the pressure of shutting the doors and what not but they are hidden pretty well on alot of cars. if you take the rear bumper off most cars there is a vent there. I do autobody/painting for a living and yes most cars have them somewhere, most are in trunk. I sealed mine off, but i got sub forward, port side/rear

No sarcasm here.... it's simple. They separate the front and rear of the driver's piston and the back wave is so decayed by the time it gets back to the cone that it has no audible affect on cone movement.

So why not do it? Some people dont want overbearing amounts of bass in their car... Favorite IB seyup ever, Acura TL with two MJ-18's IB on a zapco 1000.... Music to my ears
To each his own. No subs, sealed subs, ported subs, IB subs, whatever floats your boat. I have no interest in building another IB setup.
