yes that is what i said. i actually had an electronics technician remove the cover. he is specialized in medical elctronics repair.

here is my advice, contact him (which you already did). be blunt, tell him you want a refund or money to get the amp fixed and if he gives you 1 bit of trouble. fvck him, did you pay with funds or a credit card?
