No reason that involves SQ, or the lack there of. Or, do they sell more SPL subs like a Solo X, MT or 9500 in 10", 12" and 15" sizes because of SQ reasons as well? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
turn your SQ subs down so you can listen to what i'm saying, cause i don't wanna have to repeat myself again.
I NEVER SAID SIZE HAS JACK SHIT TO DO WITH SQ.
I did say, however, that an SQ system will normally seek a well balanced system, so a company marketing a pure SQ speaker would have a very difficult time finding people who needed 18's.
It's kinda odd that all those lines you named are available in 18's...
I don't care about what sells more...
that has nothing to do with this, that has to do with how many people have a grand lying around to drop on the 18 solo-x or the 6 cubes for boxes...
This is really not that complicated of concept.
Cone size has nothing to do with SQ.
Cone size has alot to do with SPL.
Therefore:
people who want SPL have no limits on desired volume.
People who want SQ do have limits on desired volume.
ergo:
SQ oriented speakers are for the vast majority, pointless in an 18"
SPL oriented speakers are highly profitable in an 18" model because even though the number of sales might be half of what they are for 15's or 12's, There is still a large market for them and they are priced higher and almost allways have a higher markup.
