could i run one mtx 8000 12" sub (50-400w rms) off 250 watts.....would it just play or could i get them to hit...how hard would they hit

also, what r some good 10s or 12s i could run with 250 watts that will hit

....thnx....

you could run 1 MTX 6000 10" you would be pushing it with a 12. The 12 should sound ok though. I have a 6000 10" being run by a MTX RT2200 and that puts out 280 watts @ 4 ohms. The 8000 are watt sucker uppers! Need some good strong juice for them. under 400 watts really wont push it, and would cost more than a 6000. The 8000 is rated from 400-1000 watts, dont wanna look down the wattage only up. Good luck

You should be fine with your selection. As MattNY stated though, you will be able to notice a larger difference with more power (typical) but the 250 watts you have is sufficient to get about any 12" sub moving.

Take for example The Infinity Perfect 12.1 or the Eclipse 88120- both woofers are rated at or above 350 watts RMS, however after placing a mere 50-75 watts into the sub, thier sound quality was impeccable. Granted, that more power would make them hit a little harder, however, it did drive the subs sufficiently. Again, you should have no problems with your set up.

Take it easy,
