well hes lean so "nasty bulking" isn't that big of a deal but with anything don't go overboard. his body type leans to being very lean weight to highth so eating right all week and splurging on the weekend is not that big a deal.if thats the case then cut out the beer to right?????oh and i guess cut out the red meet to if hes going to eat just healthy. have you ever took in 3200 cal. clean and just healthy? i didn't think so, if you eat 4 meals aday there no way!

weightlifting thread #2694
Agreed, and I tend to stay away. Ill post once or twice but it always ends up in a pissing match. That said, here goes...

45 minutes is plenty.

You want mass? This is all you need. 5 sets, 5,4,3,2,1. Max out every time. Since you are just getting back in, 6 full body workouts to get back in the swing of things.

Bench

squat

deadlift

power clean

bent over one arm dumbell rows(heavy)

Eat

Sleep(most important)This is not just a ploy to keep you from posting.

8 weeks after 2 week warmup.

I certainly have eaten over 3000 calories a day, clean. If you want to keep lean you eat 6-8 meals a day. I'm not talking about full on turkey dinners here, just something here or there. Weekend splurges aren't a bad thing, in fact, it is good to have a day every week or two that you eat a ton of calories. It speeds up your metabolism. All Im saying is that I started the same way, very lean, I mean 5'9 and 120 pounds lean. Dirty bulk is still not hte way to go.

Yeah but dirty bulking is the wrong way to do it. It is how I did it in the beginning (a year and a half ago). I went from 120 to 176 within less than a year and got these nasty a$$ stretch marks in my left armpit. I'm lucky you can barely see them unless I have my arm raised up. I have cut down to 162 now and I'm happy since I'm fairly light, can see my abs, and extremely strong for my weight.
so yeah, do it the right way and eat a lot and eat healthy
215 lbs 12% b/f and bech 390x1 after workout{never maxed whats the point}

fairly strong as well so,

Deadlifts = evil.
Did them for the first time ever yesterday and I can barely bend down today. Oh well, guess I gotta get used to working the lower back. =/
Lol, you did them wrong.
he is just not used to them yet. ^^^^

I personally have never done them either but i hear they are really good for you and will build hella muscle doing them. i really need to start eating healthier than i have been. I go to gym 4 times a week but recently cut cardio out due to instant headache everytime(havent been feeling good lately) and have developed some nasty love handles //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i personally use NO Explode and love it. It's pretty tasty too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I was drinking 2-3 protein shakes a day too with 2 scoops but ran out of it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

hey, protein is a good idea but the best thing to do is to put more time in the gym, 45min is not enough. you should try to find a workout buddie so he can help you. I would have your friend spot you while you lift as much as possible so you are constantly shocking your muscles. do the normal bench, incline bench, chest press, and butterfly. you should also vary your workout so your muscles have time to heal and get bigger/stronger. every time u workout hard try another part of the body the next day since you just tore the muscle and it needs time to heal and get bigger. you should also vary the workout so your muscles don't get such a memory. also work out your leggs, once you workout the leggs you will start to release a growth hormone that will boost the rest of the body.
