I need Weightlifting Advice <<<<<<

Not correct, regarding stuffing your face every meal.
If you do that as you suggest, you just poop more. Your small intestine has a limited absorbtion capacity. More frequent, smaller meals is correct for all body building. (even if you are using steroids). It is the best way to put on more lean body mass. If you want to look like Oprah, then, yes, by all means use your method. I don't think that is what this guy is after. Show me one bit of biolgical data that supports your theory of eating very large meals to gain lean muscle mass.
so just eat alot of healthy foods and plenty of protein and lift heavy for about 1 1/2 hours every two days and i will be good?

an hour and a half is a long time to lift weights

maybe if you're with a partner or two switching off....

alone, you shouldn't really need more than 30-45mins of lifting each time you go, and go 3-5 times a week (obviously if you go less you should go for a little longer and cover more body parts each session)

If you can spend an hour and a half in the gym working out without partners taking up extra time or working like half your body each time, without feeling like you're going to throw up, you're intensity blows. Lift heavier, and don't spend 5 mins doing nothing in between sets.

i usually do 45 minutes of heavy lifting and can barely drive home after i am done. It fatigues me like hell. From what i have been hearing though, 1 hour is good enough. But i lifted heavy for like a year every other day last year and didn't gain any weight, so i have to ask, what is the secret since i burn a zillion calories per day anyway playing sport and shit? Do i seriously have to eat everything in my cabinets just to keep the calories coming in to gain the muscle mass?

you may not have the genetics.... everybody puts on muscle different or just not in the right places you may want. not sayn it cant be done but its gona take ALOT OF TIME.

How low is your body fat % right now

about 9-10 %
you saw that pic of me didn't you, you can tell i need to work on my chest alot.
nope and too lazy to look for it

just eat everything, stay away from sugar and ridiculously excess fat. If you keep a decent balance emphasizing protein, and using complex carbs and fat plenty, and you are way overeating and still not gaining weight, see a doctor and get a prescription if you haven't already. I have a friend that used to have to take calorie pills or some shit every day...he'd literally, including the pills/donuts/etc, eat nearly 10k calories a day and was like 5'6" barely 100lb's

Hello, endofdays 89: on a good day I can maybe get out of the gym in 1.5 hours. Usually it is 2+ hours. But I do a lot of cardio. But there were times when I was younger that I spent a solid 2 hours just lifting if I was lifting with a partner; sometimes when I lifted alone. You can get your lifting done, assuming you don't overwork those jaw muscles while you are in the gym, in about an hour to an hour and a half. But there is always time spent doing things like stretching and cardio and abs or other special exercises. And if you lift with a partner that takes more time.

You still can eat the foods you like. You just have to moderate the time and amount. If there are some foods you really like then set one day a week to stuff your face with that food. One day a week of eating M&M's or pizza will not harm your program. On that day, eat all you can stand, and if you are like me you won't want any more for a week.

On some days you should be done in @45 min. and the rest of the time you do cardio. Make sure you do at least 10 min of cardio (vigorous, not the LaZBoy method) before you start to lift. That warms up your joints and muscles so you are less likely to get an injury.

If you can barely drive home after your lifting for 45 min you may want to step back and do an objective evaluation of your lifting or have someone else evaluate how you are lifting. I only felt like that when I trained with my trainer who was a power lifter, and the reason was we were lifting very heavy weights. Try backing down your tonnage a bit on one, two or three exercises, see if there is any difference. Also, if you are "burning a zillion calories already" from other activity, just try adding some stuff and eat more often, at least consume something like a Balance Bar to supplement what you otherwise eat. It does not have to be a monumental change in consumption but you do have to increase the protein and for you it sounds like probably additional carbohydrate. There are carbohydrate powders you can mix with water and sip on while you work out. Champion Nutrition makes a product called Carboplex which is used by long distance runners, it is completely tasteless so you can mix it with water and some fruit juice and get a nice supplement either prior to working out or while you work out or after you work out. They make some other carb based products for folks like you that are flavored and have a different formulation.

Hello, Rashadd: it sounds like your friend had an overactive thyroid.
