i need to make this box shorter!!

i need to shave an inch off of the height on this box, somebody help me. the volume can be added to the 33" dimension.

currently the height is 17" and i only have 16" of clearance. it's 3/4" mdf with a double front wall.

just cut an inch off the top and then just slide a new piece of MDF in? Shouldnt affect it THAT much, but being one of those crazy-*** snailshell enclosures i dont know.

well cutting an inch off the top WILL change a lot. just recalculate i guess. hehe

not that easy cause you have to equally open the port and speaker area to make up for the difference. 12" XXX snailshells are tempermental too. 1 area off totally ****s the sound.
