type r @600rms BOX?

Not Sure how the Type R preforms in sealed or ported, but generally, it all depends what you're after. for SPL (Loudness) usually Ported is louder cause you're using the sound waves from both the front and back, and could also get lower bass response, but that depends on the Sub.... Sealed isnt as loud, or might not get as low (depends on the sub) but it should have better Sound Quality. But normally if you want the best of both, Run Ported Tuned Low... like 25-28hz would be pretty good for SQL...

Also, depends on space... you'll have to goto alpines website and check the specs for the box size they recommend. If space is very limited then sealed box is smaller, and ported box is larger (but somtimes not by much...)

Theres lots of answers on here to you're questions but not specific for the Type R sub.

yeah i was thinking 34 hz but alpine say's 1.3CF net internal, and i think that is way to small. what CF should i go with at 34 hz

well if thats wat alpine says to do... do it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

alpines box specs i my sheet say gross volume between .75^3 and 1.75^3... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

well 1.3 IS between .75 and 1.75

i think i'll shoot for 1.5 CF @ 34hz

so my box will be 28x14x11.5

i would rather have it longer so that it is shorter so i have more trunk room

yeah they also say run em @ 500W rms.........but you dont see alot of us doing that...... and they say 4000W is to much......

i gave a type R 10 2.3 cubic feet tuned at 32 hz it ****en slams its got the apline v12 605 on it (600w RMS) its in my friends car and shakes the whole restaraunt i work at

thats really toward the sq end though, if you listen to rap for sure go with around 36hz --

and go beyond 2 cu-ft for sure.

is this a 10 or a 12" if its a 12" give it at least 3 cu ft

i hooked my DA7232(eclipse claims it does 4000w) on the type R 10" i did in a 2.3 cubic foot box tuned to 32 hz, it hit! hah, i was just testing it out

its hooked up in my friends vehicle, with the v12 605 (600w RMS) and it hits hard as hell, it shakes the whole building i work at

that was really an sq tune for rap i'd say for sure go witha 36 hz tune

and always exceed the box they say to do by quite a bit to get some real output from the woofer
