so i got my hands on a rockford p600.1 BD AMP unit

and wanna use it to drive 1 or 2 subs

my friend gave me yesterday a KICKER SOLO BARIC L5 12

he says its 1200 watts peak and 600 RMS

impedance 2 or 4 DVC

checked kicker's site, it says so

a performance certification came with the amp it says

RATED POWER = 600 w RMSx 1 @ 2ohms

MAX POWER = 2193

4ohms Load Mono = 325 watts x 1

2ohms Load Mono = 600 watts x 2

POWER OUTPUT MEASURED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CEA-2006 SPECIFICATIONS

441 RMS watts per channel @ 4ohms

731 total RMS watts@ 2ohms

Efficiency 78.295%

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

by the way this AMP isnt bridgable

the AMP page

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?cat_id=2&series_id=6&family_id=19&item_id=106477&locale=en_US&p_status=

my questions are

what does this 2 or 4 DVC means ?? the sub is 2 ohm dvc or 4 ohm dvc???

and i can i put 2 subs of this kind on my AMP??

i mean each channel on the amp will provide 600 rms

or each channel will provide 325 rms ???

when two subs are connected the amp will provide 1200 RMS

for both of the channels or 600 rms only ???

i hope im clear

exuse my english

1. The sub comes in either dual 2 or dual 4 ohm. You need to either check if the sub has it printed on it or test it with a multimeter to check its resistance.

2. Each channel? The amp is single channel it only has 1 channel.

3. when 2 subs are connected it will only provide 600wrms total

i made a mistake in the first post

the amp is

2ohms Load Mono = 600 watts x 1

NOT 2ohms Load Mono = 600 watts x 2

--------

my sub says its 2 ohms dvc

anyway

1- this amp is a mono block one, one channel ???

but it has 2 outputs for 2 subs doesnt that make

it 2 channels ???

2-so 2 kicker solo baric l5 subs are too much for this amp ????

one sub is enough ???

3-a sub with more WRMS will be better or the same

coz the amp only provides 600rms

4-if i put these kicker subs both of them will recieve 600rms

or each one will recieve 600rms???

5-is there any better sub which would bang my trunk better ??

sorry for all these questions

but im a noob //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

thnx yall

ok so the first part makes no sense at all, there is no 600watts x 2, there is just 2 output terminals for EASIER speaker wire connections

1.any MONO block amp is 1 channel, hints the name mono meaning single

2. a single sub would be fine, I dont know how under-rated the amp is but I imagine 800watts rms at 2ohms so it would be like 400 watts per sub at that point

3.that sub is fine for the amp, u generally want the RMS to match or get an amp that has a higher wattage than the sub so your gains dont have to be all the way up causing clipping

4. its a MONO amp, one channel, they will SPLIT the over all power, if the amp is maxxed out at power it might make 800-850wrms

5. use that sub as a learning experience, do your research and learn before u buy something new, let this one kind of be your foot in the door

no offense or anything but you have a LONG ways to go before stepping up to bigger systems, spend your time here, read alot and use search, it will help avoid u getting ignored or yelled at

Im not trying to put u down, I still have a long ways to go to learn also but the most important part is research, this website has everything and more than u will probably ever need to know, start off with the easy stuff and work your way thru the list eventually. its defiantly not a one day thing
