The other day my amp, and the board it was mounted to fell off the back of my back seat where it was mounted, while I was listening to some music. After that happened, I get no bass from my subs whatsoever. I found a couple wires disconnected, and I have no idea where they go to, what they are, seein as how a guy I now set up my system for me, and I am clueless when it comes to this car audio thing. The amp's power light is still on, and the bass will hit during some parts of a song, like the intro to most rap songs. Other than that, the subs aren't putting out virtually any bass whatsoever. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is?

P.S-Remember, I am new to this car audio thing, and if you answer this with all kinds of weird terms the normal person wouldn't know, I might get confused, which happens easily

try and give us a detailed explanation of what wires have been disconnected...how thick are they, what color..what is on the end, etc...

you can also check the knobs, such as gains and crossovers...see if the gains got turned way down...that could be a problem...

just give more detials about your system, and which wires are disconnected

PS detroit pistons for teh win

The wires that were disconnected: A white and black thin wire that was connected to two wires that are twisted together, like a braid, which are clear and white. I checked the gains and everything, it is alright.

PS-Pistons always for the win

well its gonna be hard to help you without being able to see specificaly what you are talking about...at least, difficult for me

maybe if you understood all the wires that are running into the amp, you can figure out for yourself where those should go...here is what you should see

-one thick wire, usually red....this is the positive battery cable

-one thick wire, usually black....this is the ground cable (should be connected to

the vehicle body...

-a pair of RCA audio type cables...the color of the wire could be anything, but the connectors on the end are usually one is red, and one is black ( or one is red, one is white)....these will be connected to the Line IN

-a thin blue wire: connected to the Remote Turn on lead (tells the amplifier when to turn on)

you should check to make sure all of these connections so far are hooked up and very secure...from what you described, it sounds like maybe these connections are all fine...your speaker outputs, however, might be the problem

what amp is it? how many channels? how many subs? how many wires are connected to the speaker output from the amplifiers?

any chance you could take a picture of the amp with the missing wires?

haha...sometimes thats the best way to do it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

just curious, what did it end up being? which wires were disconnected?

It was wires that connect to the subs from somewhere. I am not completely sure that they were from the amp. It was a dumb newbie mistake, but that is what I am, a dumb newbie
