I Need Opinions on a personal matter!!!

I remember when I left my last job. I gave those bastards a ONE month notice and even found my replacement, who happens to be a good friend of mine. Anyhow, two days after I gave the notice, one of the partners calls me into his office, and says that they don't need me to stay the whole month. I took it to mean that they didn't need me any more, so that was my last day. What pisses me off is that the partner who said that they didn't need me any more told everyone that I just up and left. Sorry, but if you tell me you don't need me any more, don't expect to see me again.

In the OP's case, this is how I would look at it. Would your current company get rid of you on a moment's notice to save a buck? If so, screw them, you don't owe them anything. There is only one person who will look out for you and that is YOU!

If wouldn't even think twice about leaving a job that pays that much. They're a dome a dozen. That's practically starting pay at McDonald's these days. If it were me I'd be looking for entry level manufacturing jobs. Plastic Molding, basic automated machining, glass cutting, whatever. Places like that usually start slightly above that payrate & offer lots of hours.

If they have treated you well then I would give them 2 weeks or at least 1 week to fill your position. Not sure exactly what you do at the resort but they will just transfer your workload to some poor other shmoe(s).

for me its kinda hard. in iowa we dont pay well but everything is friggin expensive.. and being a two time felon does not help in the job interview.

Iowa pays just fine if you arent a complete fucking failure, and it sure as fuck isnt expensive. oh wait.. 2 time felon.. you ARE a failure.
