I need help with a car

I need to buy a car for around 1500 not much at all but i really need a car and im really not to picky i kinda would like a caprice or crown vic something like that but does anybody else have any suggestions and cars that i could find around that price range that are good dependable cars.

u may not like it but an import could be had for that amount

90-93 integra

early 90s eclipse (turbo if u look hard)

90s 240sx

just a few, but they will easily take u into 200000 miles if took care of

You could probably find a good used late 90's neon for that. I had a chance to buy a 2001 neon in excelent with under 30,000 miles for $4000

caps and vics can be had for fairly cheap...though with that money u could not get a good vic...92-97? all had bad valve seals wich will make it a smokey ride....i have owned a pimp 91 caprice and presently a 98 grand marquis....98+ cv's and gm's are very solid cars....although all caprices are solid. cant think of a bad year....personallly i would look at a boxy caprice..88-90...some were carbed some had tbi -fuel injected-....very reliable and smooth lookers with some work...w/ the amount u have to spend u could get a fairly low mile one if u look....id much rather have a boxy w/ decent miles then a newer one w/ more.....any more ?'s about either i'll try and help u out

One of the only problems with a Caprice is the fact that it has a large V8 in it that sucks up fuel real fast. I know because I own a Crown Vic. Also, a Caprice will tend to retain its value more than most cars which means they tend to still be expensive compared to other cars of the same vintage.

Personally, I would find as many govenment auctions as you can and go to them. I know the Univ of AZ sells off Ford Explorers that are 1-2 years old for rougly half of what they were bought for. The larger gov't auctions tend to have Impalas, Crown Vics, Caprices, F-150s, and a myriad of different seized vehicles which can be had for less than $1k sometimes.

well my bro had a 88 and got it for 500 w/ 140k...ran hella better then my 91...all he fixed was the alternator and catylitic converter.....didnt leak or smoke....my car on the other hand was a endless money pit.(oil leaks)..it was primarly my fault cause i was anal about fixen stuff that really didnt need to be fixed...but none the less never left me stranded....and i loved it...sold it to a buddy w/ 18's/tint/paint, for 1700....i got ripped but it did have a knock or sumtin..idk.....and its definetly better then 500 what the dealer was gunna give me...so nething more then 500 was just dandy w/ me......

****! I just sold my vic for 1200 bucks and you couldda had it for 1800 with a full stereo.

Watch local PD auctions. YOu can even e-mail the departments and ask if they have any retired cars they would like to sell... Most small depts will let them go for as low as 2500 for a 2002. You just have to rub them down... In price that is...

Advice, too: look for a newer vic with the 140 amp alternator, it will help alot with the stereo.

Things you have to watch for when buying your Vic is look at the backside of the oil pan. If there's oil down there the valvecover gaskets are bad or the main seal went (caused by synthetic oil in my case).
