id be lying if i told you there are no rattles, but it isnt that bad, fire it up, not at the back hatch and you should be good
i have my roof deadened so it helps alot with a BAD roof flex noise i used to have, maybe it was my truck but at 36-38hz it would sound nasty, finally got it fixed though

So upfiring sounds good for both port and sub?

all u had to do was pull out a tape measure ... but honestly u dont have to worry about anything other then the roof and back hatch i would deaden the roof at least from the back to mid half way and also behind the panel on the hatch i had super bad roof flex on my navigator and inside it sounded nasty like a rattle can.
