i installed my headunit... but its not working!!!

i just put my eclipse 8445 in my 08 versa and its not working!

the ESN on the hu isnt activated, and all the wires are hooked up correctly (power, acc, ground, etc) except for the power antenna cord.

w the versa, you have to get an antenna adapter to plug in the antenna, which has a power cable connected to it.

i tried plugging the power antenna cable into the existing power wire on the plug, but it did nothing.

should the headunit work w the adapter? i ordered it today, but could that be causing it to not work? help me please!!!

What do you mean its not working? Its not turning on? Its turning on but not playing? Its not picking up any reception?

should i try connecting it directly to the battery? i checked all the fuses and nothing is blown

take it out of the truck wire the red and yellow to positive and the black to negative see what happens

that means theres something wrong with the wiring in the truck

well, first off, your unit isnt wired up completely......

secondly, check the voltage of the constant power and ignition power with a DMM

thirdly, check for any blown fuses

i checked w my DMM and the 12v constant reads ~14 volts and the acc is reading ~.75 volts. is that the problem??? how can i fix it? i'll recheck fuses

If you didn't use the Nissan Diversity Antenna Adapter, that is the problem. Nissans use several grounds including one through the antenna. If your wiring is 100% correct, the problem will be solved after you use the Nissan Diversity Antenna Adapter.

.75 v means you have a blown fuse in the car.

Also the diversity antenna has nothing to do with the unit turning on. You wont get any fm reception without it but it will not affect actual powering of the unit.

NO! Nevermind, I thought you had a standard Nissan Diversity Antenna Adapter. I guess the 08's are different. That wire should be for the power antenna +. I just meant normally if the antenna adapter isn't plugged into the antenna HU's in modern Nissan's won't power on.
