i have a Hifonics bxi1206 and had 2 Fi 10" Qs running off of it but very low..just wanted to get a taste of what they sounded like because i do not have all the electrical for my other amp yet..but anyway, they were running fine for a couple minutes then its almost like the amp just cut off...so i turned my music down and it sounded like my subs were pulsing...they were like....bump.....bump....bump......but really low. so i turned off the car for a while...then when i had to go, i only hooked up 1 sub and it did the same...played for a little then cuz off and started pulsing. the fuse looks fine and the protect light wasnt going on...anyone have a suggestion of what it could be?

subs are wired (1-) (3-) (2+) (4+) in that order on my amp. and my amp is just under my seat. my ground (4 guage) comes from my amp and is screwed to the floor of my truck. power (4 guage) comes straight from the battery to the amp.

I'm a little confused by your description of how your subs are wired. And I can't find anything on that amp. Is it a mono or a 2-channel?

Right now I can't think of much besides replace the fuse, even if it looks good, and try a different ground. Did you sand to bare metal for the ground? Have you tried replacing the RCAs?

the subs are wired to 1 ohm...and amp can handle 1 or 2 ohms. but i hooked up 2 q's but played them low...but i dont think that amp can handle that much power at 1 ohm stable with 2 subs going to it...(found that out after i hooked up both q's) but then i hooked up just 1 Q like i had it before and it was still cutting off and pulsing...i took it all out and im gunna try to hook it up to my cousins rocford fosgates and see what happens.

If the amp says it's 1 ohm stable, then it is stable to the amount that it is rated to, more or less. What is it rated to, and what can the Qs handle? Your subs don't **** power. Your amp pushes it. The amount of power that is running is dependent on the signal level (what your HU dishes out) and the gain setting on the amp.

I assume your Qs are 2 ohms? If you just had one of those on it, and the gain very low and it was still messing up, your RCAs are likely bad. Try plugging an MP3 player into the inputs (make sure the volume on it is all the way down to start!) with an 1/8" to RCA cord. If that works fine, it would eliminate the possibility that the amp, power, or ground, or subs are the problem.

I have that exact same problem with me amp which is also a bxi1206d it happened to me about 2-3 months ago and i still cant find out wuts wrong wit it.... i had mine wired down to 1 ohm also and i just dont think that amp can handle it... if u look in the owners manual it says 1 ohm stable but with 2 subs its only 2 ohm stable I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW it doesnt make sense but look at the manual thats wut it says.... if i turn my amp past 3/4 on my remote the amp just shuts off... and when i turn the remote down way low it puts out this really wired like scratching/pulsing sound... it doesnt help that the ppl at my local car audio store are retards but i cant find out was wrong wit it... i gave it to my friend a while back that repairs amps and stuff and he got all his equipment jacked... so once he replaces all his stuff and finds out wuts wrong wit it ill let u know and hopefully it will help ya... same for u if u find out wuts wrong let me know!!
