i have 2 questions about a sub set up please help

i wanna get one fibtl sub 3000 wrms and i wanna use it for competing should i get an 18 or a 15 to hit a higher db rating? and if its rated 3000wrms is it ok to only run 2000wrms for the meantime till i get a stronger amp? yes before i even think about hooking up my setup i will be getting an extra battery upgrading my alt. and doing the big 3. and if anyone knows how to caculate the port length for the ports that come out of the box i wanna build two ports and use one for daily listening and another for competitions to hit higher db do i tune the port higher, for competitions? and if so how high should it be tuned? please help and if you cant answer all my questions its cool at least help with the first questions.

The 18 has more cone area and would be louder than the 15, but would also require a larger box. BTLs are rated at 2000 watts RMS, but can take more than that. You'll be fine with 2000 rms. And most people in competitions have their box tuned higher.

Oh ok, didn't realize they came out with new ones

You'll be fine with running 2000 RMS on it as long as you have your gains set properly.
