Dude the price of this hobby escalates all by itself, we are just trying to stop you from throwing good money after bad. I can only speak for myself here, but my last 'budget' system would have cost me about 2500, the only thing that helped me out was being motivated by that wife person to liquidate some inventory, which made my out of pocket closer to 1500. Any decent system, done properly, at least that 2500 previously mentioned. I am on my 30ish upgrade in the past 15 years. Do it right up front, and suffer to save, will make it all the more worthwhile, and I am sure that more than a few of us old heads can agree with that.
