I don't know about you, but I am getting pissed

I havn't even gotten a chance to read my entire thread, but I have read a few posts in regards to me. First of all, yes, I am 19, and I do live with my parents. Yes, I do drive a gas guzzling SUV, and no, I am not getting the full effect of everything. I do go to college. BUT, It's not only gas prices that effect me, it is everything that is going up. All I am saying is this economic downfall is largley due to the gas prices, when the gas companies are making huge record making profits. And yes, the loan situation is bad too. This is another place that hits me hard. I work with a very large student loan company, and it's only a matter of time before it starts affecting us workers. If this gets worse, they may end up having to lay off employess, and then there are bigger problems. I would be one of the last to go though, as I have VERY good standing with my bussiness, but it still comes to mind.

AND think! Gas companies made money before. Only in the last few years have they decided to become selfish and knock out everything else for them to make RECORD PROFITS. And yes, this is slightly due to our government sitting on their ***** and doing nothing for this situation. Instead the ****tard bush send people to war. I could go on and on about all of the bullshit, but there really is nothing we can do about any of it, and THAT is what pisses me off.

I just payed 3.19 for gas...I'm already broke, and it just breaks me more. Depressing.

Nothing will change in the years to come. After 8 years, Bush has caused our country more problems than ever and they can't really be reversed.

i seriously considering it as well. the route i work can be accessed on city streets and just the money i save on gas will pay for the scooter
only problem is the embarrassment being 6'4" 275# and riding a scooter:(
Why would you be embarassed??? This guy isn't.

well I'm going to be going to Gonzaga University this next Fall, and it is based in a smallish city/town (Spokane, if anyone knows it). Regardless, There is no way in hell I'm bringing my car over there. Hooray for bikes! I'll get a nice-ish bike with a comfy seat and shocks because I'm going to be riding it a lot. Either that or walking.

But I'm not going to be spending money on gas.

That being said, I am not looking forward to a very weak America when i get out of college and am looking for a highly paid professional job.

cant be reversed? sure they can. a good start is cutting spending...

is that directed at me flip? is that figure incorrect? (serious question)
i saw it on 2 different sources so i figured its correct. i know i saw something for another country on CNN that said their inflation was up to 66,000% IIRC. i was shocked and waited for it to pass by again on the bottom of the screen, but i left before i saw it again.
Yes, I thought it was funny. Consider trying to rob a bank or something

ummmm, wouldn't your last statement contradict what you previously said that the Iraq spending - deficit spending - is actually helping the economy and if that were true then why would it affect your job?
Flip, there is no doubt you are working on your education bro, but please stop quoting your textbooks - theory is just theory, today's current economic position has the same inclinations of the Great Depression - that is real, it is great to be able to throw theories around, but when you have to apply it in the real time, real life - it doesn't work - just ask Bush how well his theories are working out for him...
That comment was based on where I work and has nothing at all to do with any economic theory....except that it is possible that govt cuts back on some things to fund others. And I am not so sure that is any kind of economic theory really.

cant wait to get my $600 economic stimulus check later this summer:)

Indeed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif:greedy://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif

a) what should the govt do?

b) pretend you are farmer john. Your family has been selling corn at the farmer's market for 100 years. Some years you do better than others. Let's say this year the demand for corn is so great you get 20 times what you got last year for selling corn. Is this your fault? Why should you be penalized now when at times you had to sell your corn for very small amounts? Why should you be penalized when you are only 1 seller in the corn market?

Oh yes, why would he be embarassed. That picture is from a website called Fugly.
or, for some others:

Fuck Ugly
The point of the pic is a fat guy on a little motorcycle. It looks like he's riding it and he doesn't care what anyone else thinks. If he did give a shit he wouldn't be riding it. He's just riding along. The fact that someone posted it on fugly.com doesn't mean shit. If your confident with your self it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

and the oil companys are making record profits:verymad:
shoulda bought stocks punks...even when gas went from $1 to $2, you fools had a chance to pass on the next rainbow or fi deal and invest, but you didnt and now some of us can sit back and go to college, work less hours, and build a retirement.

yeah, there was alot that could have prevented it, and looking back at the situation there are things i wish i had done differently...
it could have made alot of differences in alot of ways, but the main reason im selling my house is not for the reason you are refering to, sort of. i am still within my means of affordability, but with going to contract on my new place, i would rather go ahead and get out of my house so i dont have to worry about it not selling after i buy my new place. that, and i can downsize to an apt for a year, save some money, and pay off a little bit of debt that i did manage to acrue while i was unemployed.
Strange. I could have sworn we fought over something like this a long time ago. I know I have brought it up to you before.

Reason I say this is because I did this excat samething. Granted I only made around 50 thousand dollars, it was a nice profit non-the-less. I am still saving to build my own home, hopefully next year. I wanted to this year, but too much going on with the marriage and trip as my parents aren't well off and can't contribute much. Plus gives us more time to save. I am close to 90k now, but I have become very stingy with my money to the point of budget everything. Kinda getting sick of it, lol! If I can't build my house, at least I have a good down payment. I hope next year will still be a good time to buy though if we went that way. Most the lots I have looked at start pretty high. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

its highly possible that we did argue about something similar to this, as this has not been my plan the entire time. the original plan was to keep the house until my new place was nearly completed, then sell it and move from one house to the other.

but in the light of some fairly recent occurances, that plan just doesnt make as much sense as the new plan.
