I don't know about you, but I am getting pissed

Oh I see.
SInce you know I am in the market, I'd rather learn from some of your mistakes than making them myself if you don't mind explaining.
it wasnt anything with the house really. the only thing i think might have been a mistake with my house might be the hardwood floors i added. the first thing i did after i moved in was to install hardwood floors in the entire downstairs, i added a very nice pre-finished oak floor, and im afriad now that what i added is a bit above the market for my neighborhood //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

what my main regret from my situation is, the fact that i was unemployed twice since i bought my house, and i was too proud both times to collect unemployment. instead i lived solely off of my savings, and as a result its all gone...

At out economy, and it's downfall. And just think, 90% of the reason is because of the oil companies. And they just can't be changed. As a single citizen we can't do a damn thing about it. And yet all we can do is just fucking live through it, and pay the damn prices. It just pissed me off.
Discuss....
at least you don't blame it on our president like most idiots, Bush can't control this stuff, thanks for having some common sense

Here is my story, never really worked it all out so it is more for me I guess:)

Car: 2003.5 Mazda P5

Mileage: 86230

50 miles per day x .505 per gallon = $25.25

7 days a week x $25.25 = $176.75

4 weeks in a month = $707 month

27 miles per gallon = $43 week for gas

$535 month after gas costs

Paid $10k cash for the car and have been using it for 3 years

$535x12 = $6420 x 3 = $19260

So basically I am driving a free car which is still worth $6-7k so I can't complain as long as my car stays reliable, it is like a bonus check every month:)

and the oil companys are making record profits:verymad:
actually, the math was done on this, and because of our nations inflation rates, the oil companies arent making too much more profit then they were 20 years ago //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Well you heard wrong. Chain emails arent a very reputable source of information. It would actually take 2 weeks before any of the major gas companies to notice a decrease in sales. But guess what?? Regardless if you dont buy gas for one day or two weeks, you have to buy sometime, so they are still gonna make their money
it wasnt chain emails. economists on cnn have been saying this for years. law of supply and demand. we dont buy gas one day and the supply will go up. take an economics class.....

Then during that day they will jack prices up since people will buy gas the next day.

**** gas, im getting a moped.....

seriously
i seriously considering it as well. the route i work can be accessed on city streets and just the money i save on gas will pay for the scooter

only problem is the embarrassment being 6'4" 275# and riding a scooter:(

Ask your econ chair if not buying gas for one day will do anything to the long run supply of gasoline.
