At out economy, and it's downfall. And just think, 90% of the reason is because of the oil companies. And they just can't be changed. As a single citizen we can't do a damn thing about it. And yet all we can do is just fucking live through it, and pay the damn prices. It just pissed me off.

i thought i heard the economists say that if just everyone in the US didnt buy gas one day that prices would be cut in half because supply would go up...... so much for UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL......

i dont know that i blame the oil companies all that much. would you really go to lengths to try and lower your prices of something you were selling? i blame our gov for doing nothing for coming up with oil alternatives. shits gonna run out eventually.... last i heard we dont have a plan for when it runs out yet. and conspiracy theorists say the government stopped nasa from working on it...seems fishy to me.

I do ride my bike, about 40 miles everyday. I can't really ride my bike with all my stuff on it back and forth when I travel 150 miles on the weekends though. What do you drive that you have no reason to have an issue with the goverment shoving the ***** up your ***.

Our reserves have over 40 years of crude oil and petroleum stored and we haven't even taped into Alaska yet because of our truce with Saudi Arabia. The government has made it very clear that they will not invest in an alternative fuel source until absolutely necessary and is our last resort.

Well you heard wrong. Chain emails arent a very reputable source of information. It would actually take 2 weeks before any of the major gas companies to notice a decrease in sales. But guess what?? Regardless if you dont buy gas for one day or two weeks, you have to buy sometime, so they are still gonna make their money

LMAO @ the OP....how old are you? 19? living at home probably, not even out "in the economy" if all you have to worry about is gas prices...consider your life blessed

also, try entering college amid the most prosperous time of America only to graduate into a recession. It sucks... I have had a good job for 2 years, not much debt from school, and i'm still broke.

What I find the funniest is the goverment says that this increase is normal and just following our inflation, in fact our inflation is up about 4% since last year. lets see here, last years gas average $3.00, this years is to be $4.00.

Is that a 4% increase?

Gas companies get away with what ever they want, is it there fault they make money, I would say it is the persons policing their pricing and decisions. Right now BP and Shell could go up to $14.00 a gallon like fualkton would like it and nothing would be done. Maybe someday we will have a president that doesnt have a fleshy patch where his nuts used to be.

i think the housing market is worse, not that I'm really complaining right now, they finally stopped developing on every spot of open land around here.
