hey hunter sick score btw
on that recone did you end up bolting the landing down, or just glue it?
and how do you know when its far enough to glue the cone to the former?
well I got a motor from sqcrewcab, and I think im gonna grab one of his 10" recones to play with before I recone it to an 18i bolted her down. BUT the best thing to do is....to predrill through the spiders, then sink the screws. its much easier that way. and on the second question....will you reword that? i m tired and dont get it lol. but i used activator on the glue on the spider landing to speed up the process lol.
oh i see. what i do is, do the triple joint last ( cone to former joint) i put the cone on, where the surround is touching the baskets landing, and glue the cone to the former on the inside of the cone.let it dry and then do the surround and then just tilt the sub and get in there real deep like and put a bead around the cone/spider joint. if that makes sense. honestly....remember to line up the bolt down ring and predrill will a small bit, then sink the screws. it will prevent the ring from sliding after you have the ring off and the shims out, and it also prevents you from seperating the spiders when trying to screw the screws in.well I got a motor from sqcrewcab, and I think im gonna grab one of his 10" recones to play with before I recone it to an 18
But what i was meaning. The cone and the former are not glued together right out of the box, so how do you know where to glue the cone to the former?
I have only done dd/aq recones and they are all one piece
thanks man, I appreciate it
what recones do you have too? 55mm, and 3 spider?
sounds like it could be a pain the ***:crap:oh i see. what i do is, do the triple joint last ( cone to former joint) i put the cone on, where the surround is touching the baskets landing, and glue the cone to the former on the inside of the cone.let it dry and then do the surround and then just tilt the sub and get in there real deep like and put a bead around the cone/spider joint. if that makes sense. honestly....remember to line up the bolt down ring and predrill will a small bit, then sink the screws. it will prevent the ring from sliding after you have the ring off and the shims out, and it also prevents you from seperating the spiders when trying to screw the screws in.

I appreciate it bud. I will def take all those into consideration.
sorry for dumpin on yur thread, but what glue do you use too? and how does that recone play music and handle the d9?
