huge distorting problem :(

i used the equation sqrt(rms * ohms) and it gives me 28.2 for voltage. im using memphis 6.5" 4 ohm speakers and dual 5x7" 4 ohm speakers in the back. both claim to be rated 50 rms and when i set the gains properly to 28.2 or so (a little lower) i play certain songs and it distorts like crazy (speaker about to blow) i used a 1000 hertz test tone and when i plugged the dmm to the worst song (omg by usher) the bass hits and it makes a terrible sound. the amp is a rockford fosgate punch 200.2 amp, and i have all the speakers wired to 4ohms and i bridged it so it should be playing 200 clean watts right? or am i missing something?

does your amp have a high pass filter? if so set it to like 80Hz. your headunit may have one too

it had a high pass filter and it just clicks on and off. and the headunit one goes up to 125 hertz. should i turn these both up?

plus when i am setting the gains the first half of the gain setting the voltage goes up .1 to .5 but when i go past the halfway point it goes up hugely when i barely even touch it

use the hp filter, most likely the speakers are hitting notes that it's not designed to hit
