I am not seeing where this drive burns blu rays. I guess I may be explaining it wrong. I am not all that interested in making copies of the movies, what I want is to save them to the hard drive for later viewing. Will this unit do that? It seems all the units less than $300 only play blu-ray.

A burner is used to write to the medium itself (be it DVD, blu-ray). A reader can do everything else.

Hell, I think even I may be able to accomplish this. How much easier is everything if you don't do the blue-ray option...just regular DVDs?

i guess you still have to find software to burn dvds.
