HT design quote request

I've been looking around for quite a while for a professionally designed HT sub enclosure. I was going to do it myself, but there are a few too many variables to deal with when designing for ht.

If anyone has experience with ht subs, please let me know. I have a lot of specifications and am willing to pay accordingly for a good design. If you need details before you can give a quote, I can post them here, but it'll be long.

Thanks for any help.

Gotcha....

12" HCCA proto. (teamquakecelica TC9)

HCCA production T/S parameters

Buttkicker BKA-1004A, ~1000w@ 4ohms

Original plan was up to 4cubes@20hz (I have a 4" Aero already.)

I've asked a few knowledgable sources and I'm not sure if I should build sealed instead. (any opinions?)

I'd like a square footprint 2' maximum side length, maximum height 2'.

Downfiring

If ported, on side near the top

Minimum double panels

Triaxial bracing (motor/port?)

Recessed triple baffle (I'll be using 1.5" spikes, but need breathing room for driver)

Will be in corner, next to sofa.

Carpet on cement.

Mainly ht, some music.

If I rememebr anything else, I'll add it.

Oh and I'd like a quote before a design. I don't wanna get locked into anything.

Something like this, but not so big I'm guessing. This one is 10^3 @19Hz, built 2 of them.

What do you want design wise, just dimensions, cut sheet, drawings???

Is that the recommended box size/tuning for that sub in a HT environment?

I might recommend a sub with lower Fs for HT use. I would definitely recommend a ported box for HT use, and preferably a driver that is suitable to be ported below 20 Hz. A sealed sub is more suitable for live music reproduction, in which frequencies do not commonly go below 30 or 40 Hz. For HT, many ".1" channels have LFE playing at 15-20 Hz so you'll want to port around 20 Hz to accentuate those effects. The TC9 prototype doesn't seem to be optimal for LLT (large low tuned) boxes which are recommended for home theater.

That sub really isn't going to do that well in HT. You could try it in an EBS alignment, which will be about 3.25 tuned to 23hz but you will lose some output.

I also would not try to use that sub sealed as your low end will be significantly reduced to home theater.

I'm aware of the seemingly infinitely horrible response curves this thing can havel. It's all I really have at the moment though, and I plan on switching it out or having it reconed, but I have to ebay quite a few things first.

eD picked up the job, but thanks for the help?
