Hows my type-r setup

I bought some used 2004 type-r's from a forum member here, and was just wondering what i can expect, as i dont have time to install my deck or subs till next week..

2 12" 2005 Alpine Type-R's

1200watt MA Audio HK1998 Amp @ 1ohm x 1200 watts

Ported 5.25 cubic feet box, 33x17x17, not sure what its tuned to as the seller was unsure, (how can i find out?)

Pioneer 6800MP HU

you'll expect something decent at least. how big is that box and what is it tuned to?

give use the dimensions of the box and port.

two skinny ports isn't really a good idea though, especially when they're that skinny.

he should get pretty good output on 1200 watts, but I would go to 2000 to be pretty well off with those. The ports dont look to be all that skinny from the pictures....

looks like the ports are on the far edges of the front baffle, just painted and all so you cant see them. and yes..........DMM them for a final load.

i meant 2005's oops... The box is 33x11x11, ported - the two slots on the side (the black parts) the box is 5.25 cubic feet, but im not sure what its tuned to.

the slots on the box are about 2.5 inches wide each.

Learn how to use a tape measure please.

If the ports are really 2.5" wide each, then the ports are big enough.

ok do you know if the box is a single or double chamber? also measure the inside of the port width height and length, we might be able to tel you the tuning unless its a staggered port.

i can measure the ports when i get home, but the dimensions on the box are 33x17x17 ...i was in a rush when i posted that before...

If those are outer dimensions, that enclosure is only ~4.4 cubic feet and that is not taking into acount the ports. The ports look to be about 1x16 or so and that is not much port area for some Type-Rs. How deep are the ports? Take them out and check and also check the wiring while you're at it. Taking out a few screws isn't painful.
