i dont need long drawn out explanations as i have a basic undestanding

just the meat and bones of how to best match it to your woofer

gain, basically throttle or volume of power output

phase is left and right, bass you want them hitting the same so its set at zero... 180 they will hit opposite of each other

subsonic, goes along with the bass eq, basically a boost and crossover setting for lowpass

theres way more im sure..

what i do is turn up the deck to max volume and then start bringing the gain up on each amp 1 by 1, ill unplug the rca jacks and do 1 amp at a time... ill have my deck treble at +3 and the bass at -3... after everything in the surrounds sounds sweet , ill bring in the sub, also adjusting alone so i can hear everymore , rattle or slight bark it may make...

The gain or Input Sensitivity as it is better known as is for different output voltages from different source units. If the output is 2v ideally that is what the input sensitivity should be set to. But as you increase gain you can increase distortion or clipped waves/signal due to a cut off wave more of a square wave. that is why higher voltage preout Headunits are considered better.

subsonic filter is a filter which takes out the very very very low frequencies out to make the driver being pushed more effecient.

lowpass filter it filters out the high frequencies and only allows frequencies lower than what is selected. If 80Hz is selected ~80Hz and and lower is being played depending on the slope whether it be 12 or 24db per octave.
