How to build a 3 post 16v batt

Parts list:

1) 12v battery (Try and match ah) Found the blue top to match well the the cells I have in pic

2) 2 2v cells (Try and match ah)

3) 16v alty

4) Power wire

Series 2 2v cells to a 12v batt. First cell would read 16v, second cell would read 14v, and 12v batt would read 12v. When charging the battery the first cell would read at 18v, the second at 14, and the 12v at 12v. Why? They are in series and only pull from the other cells. Only charge from the 16v side and make sure u are discharging from it(16v) as well. In the pics below I dont recommend enclosing the 2 cells(like I did) as they will get warm just like u seen on the hc16v battery

Where do I get the 2 2v cells parts and are some better then others?

Also who makes a really good 16v alt?
