Now i know how many amps im looking for 500watts@1ohm=22.36amps, but when im actually adjusting my gain do i turn it up to like maxiumum volume then adjust for the amps i want or what exactly?

Im trying to turn down my 1000rms @ 1ohm to 500 @ 1ohm to match with my speaker. Also will this even work well? I just dont want to damage my sub(JBL P1022 400rms d2)

I have it hooked up 300 @ 4ohms right now and you can just hear it wanting more, distorting early

I have a multimeter to measure the current

its 300 at 4ohms, and the sub really wants 500. When i turn it up at 4ohms u can here it giving out due to lack of power. But i just turned it up for a few songs and played with it. I think its all good now. But my ported box has alot of air coming outa the top, im thinking thats deff messing with the sound im getting lol

btw im using a audiopipe apsm-1300 i bought as backup at the moment. Really liking it, dosnt get hot, sound is good, and looks like it will really put out some watts. Gotta tear apart my box, rip out the port and get it to sealed size. I really just prefer sealed lol Cant wait to shave some of my amp rack off so i can put my memphis on it
