I have shopped around for weeks trying to find the best deals on some quality system pieces and i am almost finished... now I need to figure out how I'm going to power this stuff ... any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

2004 Chevy Monte Carlo

Head Unit: Kenwood617DVD

Front: Kicker 6 1/2 component set

Rear Deck: Kicker 6x9's

(car comes with stock amp, wondering if thats enough to run those?)

Subs: 2 15" Kicker Solobaric L7's

Amp: Hifonix Hercules

please gimme some help, should I use acapacitor? where to get an HO amp if needed? detailed instructions will be best

and I know kicker isn't the greatest and everyone hates hifonix and my Hu isn't all that, but you have to understand that I got a very very good deal on these pieces pretty much half off everything ... thanks in advance

While capable of pulling a ton of current, that amp won't pull nearly that kind of current on a regualr basis. Unless you plan to compete in a class that allows the engine to be running during metering, start with big wiring and an extra battery. If you are having problems after that, go with a mid sized alt upgrade. There is absolutely no reason to have enough alternator current available to cover the max current draw of the amp. Two reasons for this. First the amp will not ever draw that kind of current for a sustained period with music. Second, the voltage regulator takes time to react to an increase in current demand and up the output of the alt, this time is usually longer than the period of demand for a musical transient. End result: the upgraded alt does you no good under daily conditions.

Just a little //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif Its Hifonics not Hifonix, unless its an even cheaper knock off or something.
