How should I aim my port...

Well I am awaiting my fully loaded BTL 18 to arrive and since I want to stick it right in when it get's here I am planning on building the box friday/saturday but I have no clue how to aim/fire the port's. It's going in a trunk until I get a SUV so the sub itself is going to be firing up. I was just gone do another subs up port's up but I don't know if maybe sub's up port back (CRX style) or sub up port into the car would be better. I have 7.5cf to work with total which I plan to use all of it (current box for 2 15's is 7.5). So any idea's box wise for the ports and tuning would be great appreciated. It's going to be powered by a Rockford T2000BD until I find another MTX1501D so I can run a 1501D per coil.

In a trunk do sub back port back if using a slot port (generally works well in trunks). My understanding of suv's is that sub back port back works well for single subs and subs up port back (CRX style) works best for multiple subs. However, I'm not going to guarantee anything, just common occurances.

he's actually right but assuming you have a trunk car, you don't have enough room to do sub back port back right? (as in the box is not tall enough due to clearance in opening of the trunk...) so yea ust do sub up port back. should be fine for now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

my subs(granted they are in a sealed box) were loudest in my car if they were in the trunk against the back seats firing toward the rear bumper. The reverb is what made it louder, but I also lost clarity.

firing directly into the back seats from right behind the back seats was the clearest, but i lost alot of volume and all of the kidney-punching.

What I have now was the best balance, I have the box as far toward the back bumper as possible and firing toward the front of the car.

Now this was with a pretty much sealed trunk. If your back seats will fold down to access the trunk, I would have the woofers and port firing foreward into the cabin. that seems to sound best in my friends cars.
