mine was two 12" volfenhags in a huge box i built with two 2" ports that i jacked out of a box my friend got from a dollar store and they were only an inch deep. the subs were powered by a 2000 watt legacy "ice" amp that was probably putting out only 350. the wiring kit was an 8 awg kit from walmart. i had a poweracoustik 2 farad cap. didnt have a rear fill in my ranger but my fronts i replaced with 2 6x8 4 ways. my headunit was the fancy sony from walmart that could change to like 7 different colors but at the time it was the best sony out and still isnt that bad for a sony imo. and that was basically it. i would ride around with my windows down while my subs farted away.

Yeah I dunno what route I'm gonna go. 4 12s ported will take up all my cargo almost, and 4 12s sealed is still gonna need 27" external either high or deep. So I think I might have jumped the gun on buying those 12s, and I might try to go with 4 10s, maybe Treo TSXs off the ZX2500.1. But I don't have any need for the Kicker woofer. But I'm thinking around $155 shipped per if I sell 'em if you're interested.

meh, mine was pretty decent. I was lucky and researched alot of shit before just going out and buying, whcih most people my age weren't doing. I followed this forum about a year before my first, so needless to say I knew not to get Audiobahn and Jenson.

my first was some crappy $40 walmart JVC HU...cause someone stole the stock NON WORKING hu out of my 93 nissan... and some Kenwood 6.5's in the doors lol. My first setup wasn't much, just a Jensen HU from walmart, but I had it installed in a 1980 Suburu at like a 80 degtree angle, and it was not secured at all. The harness was cut and somewhere along the way I hooked the switched power up to a constant so I had to turn the stereo on and off everytime I got out of the car. If I farted the thing would skip. The First sub's I had were 2 kenwood 12"s I found on eBay for $30 and a 1200w Sony amp. Don't know what the RMS was, I just read 1200w and was sold, hell I don't even know what the rating was for each sub. My box was built out of 1/2 inch plywood, no carpet, not sealed, and a 8ga wire kit from walmart. Man it sounded like crap.

Also, I didn't know what the differences was between a sealed and ported enclosure, so my box was ~1.75^3 ft per side sealed.
