At 17 I was building custom boxes for a local installer on the side taking commission, by 19 I was installing professionally, by 21 I had my first car audio store, by 23 I had two more. It's always been in my blood from day one. In early 2002 the 9-11 effect had dwindled the bank dry and I got out and haven't been back since. Only within the last year have I started to really build a system again.

17, when i started building my muscle car. head unit, amp, and 4 speakers. couple monthes later i got a daily and put a sub package in there, and was hooked. upgraded everything 3 times so far. finally sounds right //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I am much like you, started collecting at 14 waiting for liscense, except I'm 17 now, building boxes and installing audio, remote starts, etc. However I don't plan on owning a store.

No lie it was freakin loud.....i did 152 on the old AC mic with some random Outkast song..i think Elevators...didnt know much about meterin and what not back than.

This was back in like '01 so it was pretty loud for back than...haha like that was a long time ago

I used to make a list of things I had owned when I was 14 going to 17 so I could keep up with it. I still have that list in my closet at my grandparents house untouched for over a decade. It turned out to be 55 amps, 14 head units, 19 crossovers, 49 subs, 5 sets of mids, and tons of various items in that 3 yr span. I just couldn't leave well enough alone. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif The most I had at once was 14 amps and 7 pairs of subs boxed and ready to drop in.... amps on the boxes and wired to X-overs with rca's dropped off the side of the box. "throw and go" was the theme back then. That was around 16.

My favorite "small" system was a pair of JBL T-104 free air loudspeakers/woofers (10's) powered by a Coustic 460. (circa 93) They are the reason I have MB Quart DVC 10's today. The design is strikingly similar.
