How many people here use the loud function ?!?!?

Im just wondered how many people here use loud function on there h/u is it bad or it is safe to use without clipping or so on. When i use it the bass hit with alot more impact and deeper i have a eclipse cd-5425.

it is designed to be used at low volumes (where highs and lows may not be as noticeably present...). and all it does is bring out the highs and the lows. with a properly adjusted stereo, you should not need to use the loud function, and at loud volumes, you should not use it. you could damage your equipment.

I do when there are people in the car I'm talking to, it lets you keep the volume low, but still get a "full" sound from it. (my system plays flat otherwise)

The 'loud' button is just a bandaid for a bad setup or a badly set-up setup ;p

would this be equivilent to the mx function on alpine headunits? if so, yes i use it simply because its on the face of the headunit and i don't need to be showing off my system and have some asshat press that button wondering what it is and blow my subs.
