How Many of Ya'll Got Noise Pollution Tickets

Originally posted by wesleysh Some of you are talking all big and bad about how you've never been ticketed and/or never will be. All I have to say is that is a function of where you live, not your ability to "boom responsibly." For the average person the highway is about the only place they can listen to their stereo's even at moderate levels. Anywhere else is a ticket waiting to happen, its just a matter of wrong time, wrong place, wrong cop.

And don't turn your stereo's down in residential areas because its the law. Turn them down because its just plain RUDE not to.
What I got from everyone's posts is that they may not ticket in their area because they generally don't care. In small communities I think it would be safe to say this.

And I didn't read in one post about someone who turns down their system because it's the law. I think everyone who mentioned it does it because they know it is rude.... Unless I completely misunderstood this thread.

I was just curious as to see who all got tickets that is it. The truth is I have got one ticket riding down the highway blasting my setup. However, the other 2 times that I got tickets I had the volume probably on 13-15. You can still hear it from away because when I go inside my parent's house with my system on, I vibrate the picture frames and the knocker on the door. So, I was playing it low. I think the cops just know that I have a system in my car, so they usually screw with me. Most don't anymore, because they are used to me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The irony of my statement was that I was mainly speaking to people who will never care enough to visit this forum. And most of them will never sound deaden their trunks either.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif I was venting more than speaking to someone, sorry if I confused.

I think i had some sort of record I really didnt want in high school. I had a standout Low Rider, 89 Ranger chopped, and dropped, pearl flames, had a 5.0 motor. It was sweet til my friend wrecked it in an accident one day. Had to sell it because I didnt have the money to fx it at the time. Anyways, I believe I had something to the tune of 26 tickets in a 18 month span for "Loud Music" at 75 bucks a pop. Funniest ticket was when I was in the process of re-doing my entire system. I had no radio, no speakers whatsoever in the truck. I was sitting at Tasc Bell parking lot and a car went by blaring music and the cop pulled into Taco Bell and tried to write me a ticket! It took a lot of convincing but he finally saw that I had no radio. Man I hated those cops back then. Most are all retired now, and they are much mroe relaxed these days on loud music tickets.

little late to the topic, but when I lived in Ocean City Maryland when I was attending salisbury state Uni, I accrued 12 sound violations in 4 years. Basically got to know the cops by name, they were cool towards me because I was the least of their problems, but I was basiaclly an idoit for continually getting them, but it is not like they could take my equipment, mostly it was around the 3:45 am range because I was on my way home form bartending so most of the drunks were passing out by that point so they felt it was a good idea not to be rolling around at stead 145db :p

WHOA NOW!. these people are trying to ban the use and selling of amps and subs. that is a problem. maybe when you listen to music, which i do and i have lots of bass, just have it down or turn it off around residential areas, and at night around those areas.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif when i pass homes or enter a neighboorhood, i either turn the music off or turn down the bass. just keep it down around these places, because just like me we dont want this shit to be totally illegal.

That's the way it's going to work someday if these people with elementary behaviour keep screwing it up for all of us.

I love how it works...we pay for their stupid mistakes.
