How many miles should a crotch rocket have to be considered as "old"as in really used

I am looking at some bikes on craigslist and I came across one bike that I really like.. but it got 20k miles..

I dont have much experience with bikes so I m wondering at what mileage should be considered as "old" for crotch rockets?

For example, in my opinion, when a vehicle hits 100,000 to 120,000 miles, it is considered as "old" as in really used..

so anyway, I am asking this question since I want to know if this bike will last much more longer? since it is sitting at 20k miles already? At what average mileage would those bikes' engine call it quits?

P.S. the bike is well maintained, never have been crashed, etc..

Thanks in advance

1992 gsxr600

if it dies, then how much will I be looking at to rebuild the engine?

here is the bike I am looking at..

yeah I am in love with it, but I am torn on whether I should get it or not.. I dont want a bike that would quit on me anytime soon you know..

on other hand, I dont mind redoing the engine after it dies, but $ is the problem..

It would be awesome if the engine could just promise me that it would not quit on me for like a year then I m getting this!(I wish) lol..

alright, guys how much do you think this bike should cost?

This bike is 1992 suzuki GSXR600 and it got a custom painted frame, yoshimura exhaust, performance sprocket kit, and a new bigger rear tire..

so how much hmm?

no more then 2500-3000$

thats a very out dated bike...and aftermarket paint doesnt mean better resale...

IMO it lowers it because he most likly is tring to hide something...

well it's your first bike....if u lay it over or dump it, it won't be as bad as say a newer one...u should always get a starter bike....cuz chances are, ur gonna dump it

well he got another bike for sale, it got customized frame as well so I dont think hes trying to hide anything?

Why would I dump it?

And speaking of starter bike, I dont want to start on this, but I know many of my friends that started with 600cc and became an expert later on.. no problem.. Just leave it to me..

It's old as dirt and has a stunt sprocket. Anything over $1000 and you're wasting your time.
wasting my time? how come?

20K old?? worn out?? LMAO! Sold my bike with 30K on it and it was showroom clean and purred (rumbled) like a kitten...

As for the gixxer youre looking at, Id pass if you cant see it in person. If you can see it in person, take it for a ride and look for any slipping clutches, front end shakes (you shopuld be able to let go of the bars at about 20mph (if you are a competant rider) and the bike should continue to travel straight. As for the sprocket being a syunter sprocket.. Yes, it looks big, but not huge. If the speed sensor is ties into the ******, then the speedo will be off.
