How many batteries for 10-12k watts?

I have my stock 140 amp alternator, 3 BatCap 2000's and my stock battery. How many more batcaps would I need? (along with the alt upgrade I'm guessing). I'm running 3 of these:

DD M3B

Cont Power at 1 Ohm 2,400 x 1 @ 12v, 3,800 x 1 @ 14.v

Dynamic Power 5,000 Watts @ 14.4v

Efficiency Thru Output 87%

Frequency Response 15Hz-270Hz

Input Sensitivity 5V-0.15V

Thanks for all the help. I ended up going with 6-Batcap 2000s and a marine battery under the hood.

No idea. You'll have to email dc power and mechman and see if someone will make you a bracket.

I'm putting a 2nd alternator in my vehicle next year. But I'm doing that on my own. I'm putting the 2nd alt where the a/c used to be.

In theory you have 7200watts, won't be that with imp rise.

I'd get 6 G31 batts and a 270xp or bigger from DC power. Just depends upon what they make for your vehicle.

How many people play full tilt for more than 5 mins at a time with 12k on tap? One 300 amp alt would be plenty. Chances are the OP won't be playing past 50% daily.

People here are sure quick to spend other people's money. Maybe that's why the economy is in the gutter.....people love to spend money they don't have.

People gettin pissed lol. All people are recommending is what ohms law states. However there is always voltage drop and inefficiency to add into the mix as well. If you follow ohms law and use the theoretical numbers, your system should run very cleaning with no clipping or excessive heat.

I ran 4 AQ3500s @ 1ohm each off a single 270xp and 12 Deka's. Would play music at a 55-56 and I would demo full tilt for 4-5 minutes at a time usually. Sometimes up to 10 minutes and voltage was low but fine.
